GIVING OR TAKING BITTER MEDICINE -- Hold an ice cube in your mouth to desensitize your taste buds before swallowing bitter medicine.
Have a COLD? Why Chicken Soup? -- Chicken soup increases mucus flow and drains stuffed nasal passages more effectively than other types of hot beverages.
Homemade ICE PACK -- Mix 1 part rubbing alcohol with 2 parts water and freeze in a zipper plastic bag. It will be pliable enough to conform to a knee or elbow and can be refrozen after each use. Be sure to place a damp cloth between the skin and the ice pack to prevent frostbite.
The average woman needs 46 grams of protein per day -- the average man 56 grams a day.
Vitamin C -- Taking 1 teaspoon of pure crystalline Vitamin C when you awake with 8 oz. of water usually results in a bowel movement within 30 minutes.
LONGER LASTING -- Hydrogen Peroxide won't lose its fizzle if kept in the refrigerator.
Home Remedy for Poison Ivy -- Here is a home remedy for poison ivy or poison oak. Purchase some lime (the dry white powder) from the drugstore or hardware store, and mix it with shortening until you have a paste like cold cream. Spread the paste on your rash. It has worked for me!
Painless Band-Aid Removal -- Soak a cotton ball with baby oil and apply it to the sides of the bandage. In about 10 minutes, the adhesive will be softened so much that the bandage will come off automatically and painlessly!
Did you BURN your TONGUE?? -- Try sprinkling a few grains of sugar on it for INSTANT RELIEF!
GREASE BURN!! -- Relief is in the cabinet! Grab the bottle of VANILLA and pat on the burn.
Splinter Removal -- Apply a thin layer of white glue over the splinter, spread it around the area and let it dry. Then peel off the glue and out comes the splinter.
Poison Ivy -- If you rub the inside of a banana peel on poison ivy rash, it should reduce the irritation within a few days. They also say that the Impatiens plant will help reduce poison ivy rash.
For INSECT Stings & Bites -- For a Sting, cover the area with a fresh-cut onion and let sit for a while. For a mosquito bite, try dabbing on a bit of toothpaste or a little paste made by moistening a little baking soda. Best Hint! Soothe the itch with an ice cube.

OUCH! I Burnt My Tongue! -- If you burn your tongue while eating something that's too hot, put a little sugar on your tongue. Let the sugar dissolve and that will take away the burn and you can enjoy the rest of your meal.

Cold Sores -- I put a dab of vanilla extract right on cold sores. It works well and you have the vanilla right in your kitchen cabinet, saving you the trouble of going to the store.
To treat canker sores inside your mouth, place some powdered alum (a spice)on them. It tastes very bitter, but takes away the sting and dries up the sores after several applications.
Pimples -- A quick cure is to dab some lemon juice on the pimple. It should dry it up quickly.
OR Mix a cup of hot water with a ¼ teaspoon of salt and apply to the pimple with a cotton ball. Evidently, the heat open the pore and the salt tends to draw out the infection.
